- Submitting a discussion post
Your group will read one of the articles described below (you have enough info to find it in a literature, and it is available for download from the UCF library website)
Article 1: Groups 1, 5,9, 13
Article 2: Groups 2, 6, 10
Article 3: Groups 3, 7, 11
Article 4: Groups 4, 8, 12
First, identify the target population and the sample. What sampling technique was used? Do you think it was a good procedure to use, or would you recommend a different one? Why or why not? What are the pros and cons of what was done? (chapter 5)
Second; what research strategy was used? Do you think it was a good one, or would you recommend a different one? Why ro why not? (first part of chapter 6)
And third, discuss threats to internal and external validity based upon the methods described in the article. (the rest of chapter 6)
The third part shoudl be the largest part of the discussion. So make at least one comment to the first OR second item, and at least two comments to the third item. And like the previosu discussion, quality fo comments matters more than quantity. Move the discussion forward, take a risk and share your opinion of knowledge. Ask questions of your peers.
Some of the information will be provided in the articles, e.g., the authors MIGHT disucss their sampling techniqe in the method section, and they might discuss threats to validity in the discussion. And for most of it you will ahve to form your own opinion by applying what you learn in Module 3 reading.
