Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to apply the design plans you identified in your course map, module outline, and course module #1 as you build the second content module in your development course.
Steps to Complete this Activity
Review
- Review the following module pages if you have not already done so:
Plan
- Refer to your completed course map and module outline.
- If you have not yet completed the module outline assignment in the previous module, we recommend that you complete this step prior to building your module in your development course.
Create
- Access your development course.
- We recommend completing this assignment on a laptop or desktop computer.
- Create a module.
- As you build the module in your development course, please be sure to include the following elements:
- Module overview page with brief description, measurable objectives and applicable assessments
- Content pages with relevant items: readings, links, videos
- Materials and learning activities that align with the stated module learning objectives
- Provide sufficient context and information for learning activities and instructional materials.
- Consider what prompts, directions, and details students may need as they interact with the content and complete activities and assessments asynchronously.
- Include, at a minimum, one assessment that aligns the with stated module learning objectives
- Add directions, questions, prompts, etc., for this assessment
- Below is a list of resources that may be helpful to you as you build your module:
- Templater tool: Access templates (if your institution provides) already formatted for accessibility.
- Duplicate a module item: Easily duplicate a page you have already structured and formatted to save time creating a new, similar page.
- Duplicate a module Links to an external site.: You may duplicate an entire module and then edit the module components. Please note that there are a couple of duplication limitations (more details provided in link).
- Import Docx or HTML tool: Easily import content from a PowerPoint, Word document, or html file.
- Canvas Accessibility Checker Links to an external site.: Identify and resolve any accessibility issues as you build your module.
Submit
- Once you have completed the module draft in your development course, copy the URL at the top of the first page of the module.
- Click the Website URL tab and paste the URL in the assignment submission text box.
- Need help? Refer to the Canvas Guide for directions on how to enter a URL as an assignment submission.
- Please use the comment box to ask your instructional designer any questions about this assignment.
- Click Submit.
