Welcome to ACG 2021.  This is a very fast paced course, so you will need to make sure to hit the ground running.    Homework will always be due by 11:00 AM on the day of the lecture for that topic, and is designed to give you an introduction to the material we will be covering in that lecture.  The homework is done through Connect Accounting (McGraw Hill).

Due to the short duration of the course, unfortunately, there is a homework assignment due on May 16th (the first day of class) at 11:00 AM.  See the Instruction sheet posted on how to sign up for Connect Accounting which is posted in Web Courses and on my web site.

The username MUST be your official Knightsmail email address.  If the log in is NOT your OFFICIAL knightsmail email address, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THE ASSIGNMENTS.

I have also put together a sheet with different options for purchasing the textbook, and posted it on Web courses and my Web site.

The GA for this course will be having office hours in BA 355, Accounting  Tutoring  Lab, from 10:00 - 12:00 AM Monday and Wednesday and 4:00 – 6:00 Tuesday and Thursday .  Also, If at any time during the course you have any questions or problems please email summeracg2021@gmail.com to contact her.  Her name is Weiting Li.   Do not send emails to any other email address, including the professor’s, so that we can make sure they are addressed immediately.  DO NOT EMAIL THROUGH CANVAS.

If you have any questions, please first try to ask them on the discussion board in Web courses and if you need additional answers, please email:

I cannot stress enough that the first 3 chapters for this course are the MOST IMPORTANT, and all of the rest of the course will build on them, so it is imperative that you spend extra time making sure that you learn the first 3 chapters.  If you really understand these chapters well, the rest of the course will be easy; if you don't it will really make the rest of the course a virtual nightmare. I have set up a lot of practice tools for you in Connect to help you to master these topics.

It is also very important that you read the chapter in the text first, before you try to do the LS Ready Action assignments, as the time and number of questions you have to complete is dependent on your familiarity with the material.  The more familiar you are with the material, the fewer questions you will have to complete to complete the assignment.

I really want you all to succeed, but I want to remind you that, first, this is the same course with all of the same amount of material, that is normally taught in 16 weeks just condensed down to 6 weeks, so we will move quickly, but if you put the time and effort in, you will be able to succeed, and second, you cannot skip reading the chapters before you attempt the homework. I know how tempting it is, especially in the shortened term.
