To obtain a list of all commercial banks, savings banks, savings associations and U.S. branches of foreign banks in an individual city, county, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), or state, by amount of deposits and deposit market share go to FDIC's Summary of Deposits. For example, as of 6/30/12, the following top ten institutions in terms of deposits in the Central Florida area (Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia Counties) had the specified millions of dollars of deposits:  SunTrust ($11,326),  Wells Fargo ($9,575), Bank of America ($9,357), JPMorgan Chase ($2,456),   BB&T ($2,422), Regions ($2,416), TD Bank ($1,434), PNC ($1,406), Fifth Third Bank ($1,393), and Bank of Montreal ($560).  The top three institutions had 59% of deposits and the top ten out of 58 institutions had 82% of the $52 billion in deposits in the area.  Deposits should be correlated with employment opportunities in an area. See recent examples for Florida and Central Florida below.
