- Submitting a discussion post
For your final discussion you will again talk with your discussion group about your final paper. This time, you will focus on the content of chapter 15 as it pertains to writing your paper method/discussion and specifically how you would analyze the data for your paper.
1. You should begin by posting a question about your paper or chapter 15 as it might relate to your paper.
Examples:
I am doing my paper on a nonexperimental design comparing boys and girls reactions to parents divorce. I am not sure what statistical test to use, any ideas?
I am not sure I get the difference between the median and the mode, can anyone explain?
My dependent variable is score on the Beck Depression Inventory II. I think I should use the mean as a description of the central tnedency. Is there any reason I would use a median instead?
2. then respond to others questions
examples:
Did you check chapter 8? I would look there and in chapter 15. I think you would use a independent samples t-test, but it could depend on your depednent variable.
Median is the score that would be in the middle if you lined them up from highest to lowest. Mode is the score that appears most often.
You would use the median instea dof the mean if some of the scores were outliers
You must ask at least one question and make at least two responses to others questions
