Info Purpose

The final course design review is one of the culminating activities in the <Replace -  Course Title>   course, along with the Virtual Showcase. For this activity, your instructional designer will conduct a final review of your development course using the same rubric you used to complete your course design self-assessment (e.g., the <Replace -  Course Title>  Final Course Design Review Rubric Download Final Course Design Review Rubric).

We have scaffolded several "Build Your Course Assignments" throughout this course to help you develop a student orientation module and at least two content modules that reflect quality course design elements by the end of <Replace -  Course Title>  . The purpose of this review is to ensure that the required course elements are present in your development course and to identify any items that may be missing. Once the review is completed:

  • If the course materials and resources created meet the <Replace -  Course Title>  course design standards specifications, you will have met this requirement.
  • If the course materials and resources created, do not meet the <Replace -  Course Title>   course design standards specifications, the ID will provide recommendations for improvement. You will then have one week to make improvements to your development course (based on the ID recommendations) to meet the provided design standards.

Strategies  Steps to Complete this Activity

Follow the steps below to submit your development course for review. This gives your instructional designer the opportunity to complete the final review. 

  1. Review the Preparing for the Final Course Design Review to ensure you are prepared for the final review.
  2. When you are ready, access your development course.
  3. Copy the URL for the 'starting point' of your development course (this may be a homepage, syllabus page, or modules area).
  4. Click the Submit Assignment button.
  5. Paste the URL into the box provided. 
  6. Click the Submit Assignment button to submit the assignment. 

NOTE: Your course review should be completed by Friday, 11:59 PM EST of week 10. Be sure to check your grade book for the results of your final review or contact your assigned ID.
