Exporting PowerPoint Presentations as Videos

After finishing your presentation, you can export it as a video to share with others or use as an asynchronous lecture video for your course. The exported video will include embedded audio, video, animations, and slide transitions added during the design process.

Instructions: Exporting PowerPoints as Video

Follow the guide below to export a PowerPoint presentation with audio narration as a video file.

Review all slides in the presentation to check animations, transitions, audio, and embedded videos. Make any revisions before exporting.
Open the File drop-down menu in the top menu bar.
Select Export.
In the pop-up menu, choose where you would like to save the exported video on your device.
If needed, rename the exported video in the Export As field.
Locate the File Format option and open the drop-down menu.
For video files, select either MP4 or MOV.
For Timings, choose whether to use recorded audio narration timings. If this option is turned off, slides will default to 5 seconds each unless timing has been manually adjusted in the Transition or Animation settings for individual slides.
When finished, click Export.
