Important Note

This chapter covers the body as a whole entity and focuses on terms and issues that relate to the body as a structure. Each body system will have their own chapter moving forward, however many of the terms you learn in this chapter will apply to many of those systems as we move along in the course.

 

 

Objectives

• List the levels of organization of the body.
• Define and identify three planes of the body.
• Identify the cavities, quadrants, and regions of the body.
• List and identify terms related to direction, position, and planes of the body.
• Recognize, pronounce, spell, and build words related to the structures, diseases, conditions, and procedures of the body as a whole.
