Discussion Post #2: Overview

The purpose of this discussion is to encourage you to reflect on how the qualities/characteristics associated with the effectiveness of UTAs and the behaviors associated with immediacy might contribute to your professional development and your future success. Reading your classmates' posts may provide you with additional ideas that you hadn't considered. 

Directions

1. Consider how the qualities/characteristics we discussed and the behaviors associated with immediacy might contribute to your professional development/future success. (Note: Refer to the photo you took in class if you need to jog your memory of the list of qualities/characteristics we discussed in class.)
2. Select at least one quality/characteristic associated with effective UTAs and show how it might contribute to your future success.
3. Select at least one verbal/non-verbal behavior associated with immediacy and describe how its application could contribute to your future success.
4. Share these in an online post.
5. Read your classmates' posts to gain perspective on their views and ideas.
6. Send a reply to at least one classmate describing what you found interesting about their post and why it was interesting to you.

Grading

Students will receive full points (10 points) if they include:

1. one quality/characteristic associated with UTA effectiveness and explain how it might contribute to their future success (4 points).
2. one verbal/non-verbal behavior associated with immediacy and how it could contribute to their future success (4 points).
3. Send a reply to at least one classmate describing what was interesting about their post and why it was interesting (2 points).
