Discussion Rubric
There are thirteen (13) discussion in this course. Each is worth three (3) points. Your original posting needs to completed by Wednesday of each week. This original posting should be between 100-150 words and free from grammatical errors. You also need to respond to at least two other student’s posts by Sunday (midnight) each week. A simple “I agree” or “I disagree” will not be sufficient.
Quizzes
There is a simple syllabus quiz offered at the beginning of the semester. This quiz is obviously based off of the class syllabus and is worth five (5) points. There are four other quizzes based upon the textbook chapters. All of these quizzes are open from the first day of class but have specific due dates. Because they are offered from day one, I encourage people to take these quizzes early in case of an emergency. Because they are open from the first day class, no late quizzes will be accepted and no make up quizzes will be offered.
V. Course Policies: Grades
Documentation of Activity: As of Fall 2014, all faculty members are required to document students' academic activity at the beginning of each course. In order to document that you began this course, please be sure you sign the attendance sheet and return it to the instructor for the first week of classes or as soon as possible after adding the course, but no later than August 27, 2021. Failure to do so will result in a delay in the disbursement of your financial aid.
Late Work Policy: Each student is expected to give prior notification if she or he is unable to participate in a discussion at the scheduled times. If a student fails to inform the professor prior to the discussion due dates or if a documented excuse is missing, a grade of zero (0) will be given for that discussion.
## No make-up quizzes will be offered. ###
Grades of "Incomplete":
The current university policy concerning incomplete grades will be followed in this course. Incomplete grades are given only in situations where unexpected emergencies prevent a student from completing the course and the remaining work can be completed the next semester. Your instructor is the final authority on whether you qualify for an incomplete. Incomplete work must be finished by the end of the subsequent semester or the “I” will automatically be recorded as an “F” on your transcript.
VI. Course Policies: Technology and Media
Email: This is the preferred method to communicate with me directly. I check my email daily and will respond to any inquiries as quick as possible.
