Notes for Course Facilitator

Summary: 

This assignment prompts participants to create and submit a course schedule.

Suggestions:

  • If your institution does not provide participants with a development course, please be sure to revise step 1 below.
  • If your institution is unable to provide a facilitator, please revise step 2. Provide an alternative way for participants to receive feedback on their assignment.
    • Participants may contact a mentor (colleague with online teaching experience) or TOPkit Ambassador at your institution.

Assignment Overview

For this assignment, you will create a draft of your course schedule using <Replace with your course schedule template>, in <Replace - Your LMS>. Since this is just a first draft, don't worry if you do not have all of the information for your course schedule available. You will be able to edit and add content throughout <Replace - Course Title>.

Step 1: Create Your Course Schedule

This step is completed while in your development course.  Once this step is completed in that course, you will return to this assignment page to complete Step 2 (below).  

 

Step 2:  Submit Assignment

Once you have completed the assignment, follow the steps below to submit your course expectations to your instructional designer.  (This step is completed within the <Replace - Course Title> course).

  1. Click the Submit Assignment button on the right sidebar of this Assignment page to open the submission area.
  2. Click the Website URL tab and paste the URL you just copied from your <Replace - Course Title> development course into the Website URL box that appears. Please use the comment box to ask your instructional designer any questions about this assignment.
  3. Click the Submit Assignment button found below the comment box to submit assignment. 

Once submitted, you have completed this assignment. Your course facilitator/mentor/POC will review your submission and offer you feedback.
