Overview and Objectives:

The people you are communicating with in this discussion activity are the same people with whom you will interact in your online small group activities for the next few weeks. This is an opportunity to meet and greet your group members.

Participants will:

  • Introduce themselves/course to the group.
  • Develop online group protocols for assignments and interactions.

Discussion Activities:

  1. Introductions – Introduce who you are and briefly describe the course you will be developing. 
  2. Online Group Protocols - Work on group protocols.
    1. Select participants for the role of Spokesperson – The spokesperson will summarize small group discussions and post to the large class during online group assignments.
    2. Discuss your <Replace - Course Title> work/availability schedule.
      1. What days will be designated to work on <Replace - Course Title>?
      2. When can group members expect your responses to online group work?
    3. What is your group's preferred mode of communications?
    4. Preferred email address (via this course, Google Docs)?
