DESCRIPTION: I am all about saving the bees.  The main inspiration for this assignment stems from my early teaching experiences with a twice-exceptional student experiencing difficulties with reading and writing. Along with my Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Reading Education and my drive for better helping twice-exceptional students experiencing reading difficulties, I decided to seek out resources that could better meet the needs of these students with video-texts.  In my M.Ed. program, I learned that videos and multimedia are considered texts.  When it comes to twice-exceptional students with reading difficulties, it appears they can benefit from accessing rich content in other ways such as video-texts and multimedia.  In this assignment, I also attempted to better blend literature with informational texts and promote word play for gifted students.  The resources were selected with not only twice-exceptional students with reading difficulties, but also the ELA Instructional Shifts and the Technology Integration Matrix in mind.  These resources help pave the way and guide the next assignment, which is the enrichment unit centered around saving the bees.
