Chapter 9 discusses ethical issues whereby nurses are charged with the responsibility to make decisions. While this may sound rather simplistic, it is not. The components of choice are vast and differ based on culture, nationality, religion, economics, morals and ethics (or the lack thereof of any of these components). Nurses have an obligation to monitor legislation that affects health care and be proactively participate in supporting their clients as well as the nursing profession.
