You shoudl read chapters 1 &2 in your textbook and read the online material for module 1 before beginnign this assignment.
Your task is to explore a research idea and practice doing a literature search by completing two literature searches, the first using psycINFO and the second using Google scholar.
You can also think of this assignment as a way to get a jump start on your final paper. While you do not have to do your final paper on the same topic, you could consider this an opportunity to begin your literature search for your final paper now.
Descriptions of and rsources to help you use these data bases can be found in the content of module 1. There is a detailed description of psycINFO in your textbook in chapter two, and Google scholar is described in the module 1 webcourses content.
You will provide information about the topic you are interested in, how you went about doing the literature searches, and the outcomes you obtained by completing and submitting the answers to the questions in the document below. You should submit the assignment as a word document or pdf file.

Start your search by selecting a topic, and as you will see on the assignment document, you should write a paragraph about why the topic interests you.
Then do a psycINFO search. You can access the psycINFO database from the UCF website.
Start by entering a single searchterm (key word or subject that can appear anywhere in the article)
Note how many results are returned.
Narrow the search term by adding a search term or limiting one of the other fields.
(In rare cases you may need to broaden your search -- if you have very few results this would probably be because you are searching a rare topic or are using a poorly chosen key word. If you need to broaden instead of narrowing your search you may describe the process of how you broadened your search rather than how you narrowed it)
Note how many results there are now?
Further narrow it one more time (required) and describe how you narrowed it and report the number of results returned.
Repeat as needed (optional) until you get a manageable number of citation results.
Review your search results and select three sources that might be useful for writing your final paper.
You will need to provide a full citation for each of the three articles and write a sentence about why you think it is a good source.
Repeat the above steps using Google scholar which can be accessed via the internet. If you are linked to UCF's campus youc an further set Google scholar so tha tit will provide you with a copy of any article that is available for download through the UCF library.
Finally, write a couple fo sentences about which of the two databases you prefer and why you prefer it.
