Introduction
Every scholarly journal such as Science, Conservation Biology or The Florida Scientist, has its own guidelines to authors that details the format that must be used by papers submitted for publication in the journal. A very important part of those guidelines spells out the way journal citations should be referenced in the text of the paper, and how those cited references should be collected in the bibliography (aka "References" or "Literature Cited") section at the end of the paper. Although some journals have their own, unique, references style, many journals adhere to existing style guides. Here are examples of some of the more popular reference styles:
You will be using the APA style for citing your bibliographic references in your Research Proposal assignment. This quiz tests your understanding of how to employ the APA style before you prepare your Research Proposal #03: Broad-Search Bibliography assignment.
