In this module, we discussed the benefits and challenges of selecting and presenting instructional materials in a digital learning course as well as the importance of the design and organization of these materials. Some key points to remember include the following: 

  • Instructional materials should support a variety of student-to-content interactions.
  • Existing instructional materials may need to be adapted to ensure accessibility in your digital learning course.
  • Adopting new digital resources, such as open educational resources (OER), can help increase student interaction and engagement with the content.
  • Chunking your digital course materials can proactively address learner variability and support Universal Design for Learning.
