With your Literature Review and Narrative Development activity you now have the information you need to develop your Root Definitions.  The Root Definition is developed using the PQR formula:  do P, by Q, in order to help achieve R.  You are answering the questions What? How? and Why?  This helps you capture the transforming process that you can develop into you system diagrams.  Once you have determined PQR, you can write out the Root Definition as a statement.  You are describing a purposeful activity that will take a particular entity and transform them into a different state.
