This is a very tricky part of grammar in any of the languages that I know, because a lot of times these prepositions do not directly translate to the same prepositions in between different languages. I will guide you through the general rules.

We have already studied the verbs of the first conjugation ending in –ARE, the ones of the second conjugation ending in –ERE and now we will learn the last conjugation, the third one.
Verbs ending in –IRE belong to the third conjugation.

Unitá 3B. Come sono?
I am going to start this section with a rhetorical question: “what is an adjective?”. My best answer is that an adjective wraps around a noun, and it gives either physical or psychological characteristics to it. In English, adjectives always go before the noun they refer to, while in Italian they always go after the noun, with few exceptions.

In order for you to remember this list, try to highlight in your mind the adjectives that are cognates with English, even though it is the other way round because it is the English language that is using a romance language root.
