Andre Bazin was an important theorist in the field of film. He was a former journalist who communicated a great deal of his beliefs on objectivity into his theory. His research focus was to define cinema through theoretical articles that he wrote beginning in the 1950s. Bazin was also the co-founder of the French film magazine Cahiers du Cinema.
