Tips for Success: Final Project

Do ThisTips for Success: Final Project

This week, you will be synthesizing the feedback you received on your work-in-progress draft and all the knowledge that you accrued in this course to revise your rough draft to develop a complete version of your final project.

Below, I have compiled a few tips for success regarding the submission of your final project. Carefully consider these tips as you work on revising your final project this week:

  • Use comments on your Final Project Proposal and from classmates on your work-in-progress draft as a guide for your revision. This feedback will help you consider and apply revisions to your final project.....
  • But remember to scrutinize and process feedback that you received into your submission. When revising, it's important to always view/read your project multiple times to consider how you can improve the project along with how you can incorporate feedback.
  • Don't forget to cite your two peer-reviewed sources within your analysis and in a works cited page at the conclusion of your final project. I will be checking for these sources when grading your final project.
  • Make sure that you have a clear thesis statement and development of analysis through an investigation of specific formal techniques.
  • Before submitting, carefully review your final project against the rubric in the Final Assignment
  • Additionally, review your final project carefully to make sure that you fulfill formatting guidelines. This will also allow you to pinpoint mistakes that could lead to points off.
  • Give yourself ample time to submit your final project. This is especially true for those completing video essays. Make sure that you account for exporting time, uploading to a website host and submitting the link into the Final Assignment.
  • Finally, for video essays, make sure that the link you submit is private or unlisted, as it will surely be taken down for copyright purposes. If the video is taken down, I will not be able to assess it.
  • Take a deep breath and consider all the work you've completed to get to this point. This is a major accomplishment and a significant step forward toward becoming a scholar of film criticism!
