Read: Filmish Chapter Four: Time

Before reviewing Andre Bazin's "Ontology of the Photographic Image," it's important to understand how filmmakers use elongated and fragmented time to disrupt the temporality of imagery on-screen. As with previous chapters, Ross summarizes various approaches that filmmakers use throughout history to portray time, one of the three pillars of cinema along with movement and light, either authentically or abstractly.
