Module 5 Summary

In the Week Five Module: Sound Design and Movement, you understood theories of movement on-screen by viewing a video essay on Akira Kurosawa's cinema. Then, you applied your knowledge to a screening of the 1931 Fritz Lang film M. Through a short discussion contribution, you connected the video essay and the film together while also considering how on-screen movement can be used in tandem with sound design. Finally, you proved your understanding of course concepts through a short reading quiz.

ScheduleGetting Ready for Module 6

In the next module, you'll evolve your understanding of sound design techniques in film through the reading of a Filmish chapter. Then, we will continue our conversation of sound design used in conjunction with imagery from a film to investigate the relationship between sound and image in Robert Bresson's film A Man Escaped
