Module 4 Summary
In the Week 4 Module: Cinematic Space, you applied the knowledge that you accrued in readings from "Apparatus Theory" and Filmish to a screening of Brazil. After the screening, you completed an analysis worksheet and a writing assignment that allowed you to synthesize your knowledge and observations into a well-developed thesis statement. This served as a preview of expectation for the midterm essay exam, which you reviewed assignment instructions for.
Get Ready for Module 5
In the next module, we'll transition from cinematic space to sound design in film by viewing Fritz Lang's film M and considering the sound design techniques employed in the film along with theoretical approaches to sound in film.
