Introduction - Thoughts on the Ethics of your Industry

In this module we take a look at the good, bad and ugly in our industry. You may have totally smooth sailing and never encounter any ethical or morally difficult decisions. However, if you find yourself in a quandary, you will need to prepare yourself to detect, analyze and effectively manage your situation. 

Module Objectives

  • Prepare students to understand their role in making ethical decisions for their professional career
  • Open eyes to the potentially negative forces in our industry

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, students will be able to:

  • Realize how they can inadvertently become part of something that could harm them or their career
  • Listen for clues about nefarious or compromising situations
  • Be able to navigate in the business based on their own personal values

  • ReadingRead Chapter 10 - GRIT, The Power of Passion and Perseverance
  • Discussion Complete discussion based on ethical scenario
  • Email Send out requests for Informational Interviews
