Suggestion for questions: Make them your own!
- How long have you been with the company?
- What are your main responsibilities in this job?
- Has your role changed since you’ve been here?
- What are the most important skills for this job?
- As a student starting out in this field, what suggestions would you have for me to get ready for a position such as yours?
- What did you do before this?
- What are some of the career paths in this industry?
- Why did you come to this company?
- What’s your favorite part about working here?
- I’ve read about the company’s founding, but can you tell me more about...?
- What can you tell me about how I might make myself a good candidate for a position with the company in the future?
- What publications, conferences or conventions would you suggest I subscribe to so that I stay current in the industry?
- What gets you most excited about the company’s future? What is the company and team culture like?
- How would you describe the work environment here—is the work typically collaborative or more independent?
- Is there someone else you would suggest I connect with as I continue learning about roles in the industry?
- May I contact you again to share my progress and stay connected? (EVERYONE SHOULD END WITH THIS QUESTION!)

Assignment:
Due: 3/24
Write at least 10 questions you might ask the person you are interviewing. You may not use all of the questions, but the last thing you want is to look like you didn't think through any questions before the interview. The questions should relate specifically to what YOU want to know about the industry and how you might gain the knowledge and experience to be considered for your dream role. (see above for some possible options)
