In this project, you will be setting your "ultimate concern" goals. Angela Duckworth talks about these goals and how to create TOP, MID-LEVEL and LOW-LEVEL goals.
Understanding your VISION/MISSION/PURPOSE will help you complete this assignment in a purposeful way.
"At the bottom of this hierarchy are our most concrete and specific goals - the tasks we have on our short-term to-do list."
"The top-level goal is not a means to any other end. It is, instead, an end in itself... a compass that gives direction and meaning to all the goals below it."
"Any successful person has to decide what to do in part by deciding what not to do."
I recommend reviewing chapter 4 - How Gritty are You? before beginning this project.
Goal Setting Project
Use whatever format you would like to share your goal setting hierarchy.
EXAMPLE:
You may use any program or style you would like for your goal setting.
Expectations for full credit:
- Three (3) Top-Level Goals
- A minimum of two (2) Mid-Level Goals for each of the Top-Level Goals (at least 6 mid-level goals)
- A minimum of five (5) Low-Level Goals for each of the Top-Level Goals (at least 15 low-level goals)
- Goals should be consistent with the definitions for each level and support the goal above it (see chapter 4 GRIT)
