Instructor Introduction

Hello!

It is a pleasure to have you in class. My name is Ms. Vance and I will be your instructor this semester.

I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in the HIM profession for over twelve years with experience at the UCF Health Center, Orlando Health, Seminole State College, and Western Governors University. My direct areas of focus and expertise center around document management, data quality and analytics, legal medical record management, master patient index, systems integration, vendor management, and education. I graduated from UCF with a Bachelors degree in Health Information Management and continued on to pursue an Executive Master of Business Administration with a leadership concentration from the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University. 

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, running, and spending time with my family. My son is almost 2 years old and he is the light of our lives. I have completed several marathons along with two Ironman triathlons and am always looking for a new travel adventure, whether abroad or here in the beautiful United States (though COVID-19 has certainly limited this in the past two years!).

I look forward to working with each of you this semester as we journey through our virtual hospital and learn more about the different areas!
