Final Exam: Section 1, Chapters 1-4

This is the 1st of the 3 parts of your final exam. This exam covers information in the modules and textbook related to chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Like previous exams, these are not timed:

• There will be:
  • 17 multiple choice questions, worth 1 point each
  • 1 short answer question, worth 3 points
  • 1 long answer question, worth 5 points
  • 1 multiple choice question for extra credit
• To ensure you have answered the short and long answer questions adequately, expect your responses to be:
  • 1-3 sentences for the short answer responses
  • 3-5 sentences for the long answer response
  • If your response is shorter, you may not have fully addressed the question
• You will only be allowed to see the correct answers once, directly after you submit the exam. No exceptions.

This exam will open at 12:01 AM on Monday and close at 11:59 PM on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11. If you are still taking the exam at the deadline, the exam will auto-submit.

This exam is open book, open notes, and open Internet. It is NOT open friends or classmates.

Working together on this exam or sharing exam questions/answers is considered cheating. Students who engage in these behaviors will be given an automatic 0 on the exam and referred to Student Conduct.

Tips for completing this exam:

1. Study in advance. This will reduce your stress and anxiety, and will shorten then amount of time it takes to complete the exam.
2. Have all your materials arranged and ready to take the exam.
3. Technology: make sure your laptop is charged and that you have stable internet access.
4. Take your time. Read each question carefully. Read all of the possible answers before selecting the best response.
5. Check that you have answered each question before you hit "Submit."
6. Remember to hit the "Submit" button so your exam can be graded.

This exam is designed to refresh and reinforce your knowledge and understanding of topics from Chapters 1-4. To prepare for this portion of the exam, please refer to Exam 1 and to the "Terms to Know," "Persons of Note," and "Anthropological Concepts" sections of the "Chapter" module pages.
