Unit 5 Introduction
The Antebellum North and South
For most of the class, we've looked at developments that were mostly national--things that affected the entire country, including, most recently, the Second Great Awakening, reform movement, and Jacksonian politics. In this unit, however, we'll look at how two different sections of the country--the North and the South--developed. In this study, we will draw out the similarities and differences in the development of these two regions.
