Unit 3 Introduction

Unit 3 takes us to the American Revolution and its aftermath: the creation of a new nation, the United States of America. As in previous units, you will have chapters from the OpenStax textbook and a quiz, BUT there is only one discussion option this week.

For this discussion post, you will work with primary source documents.  An important aspect of being a historian is reading and interpreting primary sources.  Primary sources are items from the time period you are researching.  For this discussion, you will be reading and analyzing a selection of documents from America's Founding.  Namely, The Declaration of Independence (1776), The US Constitution (1787), and the Bill of Rights (1791). You will use these documents and textbook readings to craft a discussion post.

This unit is content heavy.  There is a lot to read and work through.  Please do not wait until the end of the unit to start.
