Summary

Upon completion of Module 7 (Week 7), you should have:

developed an understanding of the stages of team development; types of team player styles and their respective characteristics and contributions; the differences between compromise and consensus in group work; and the components of interpersonal and meeting management skills.
completed an assessment of your preferred team member style.
reflected on and shared your thoughts on how you will use what you learned from the reading and the assessment of your preferred team player style and what was interesting or surprising about what you learned.

Team work is inevitable. Learning how to work effectively in a team environment will help you now and in the future.
There are four stages of team development - forming, norming, storming, and performing.
There are four main team player styles - contributor, collaborator, communicator, and challenger. Each style makes important contributions to the team and the team's success.
Developing strong interpersonal and meeting management skills are important to conducting productive team meetings.

Next week's class is face-to-face. We will be discussing management of difficult situations related to working with students in your role as a UTA.
