Unit 2 Introduction

This week we will be taking a look at strategies to prevent cardiovascular disease and cancer. By the end of the chapter you will be empowered to make personal choices to prevent these diagnoses. You will also be armed with a list of simple things you can do to promote long term health.

Describe the risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease.
List steps that can be taken to prevent cardiovascular disease.
Discuss causes of cancer and how to avoid or minimize them.
Describe how cancer can be detected, diagnosed, and treated.
