FHIMA - July 2025 in Orlando, FL

We invite you to attend the Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA) Annual Conference - https://www.fhima.org/annualmeeting/.

Attending the conference is an excellent opportunity to network with professionals, attend educational sessions, and gain insight into career opportunities after graduation.

Conference/Travel Information

  • This professional meeting is held July 13 – July 16, 2025 at the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek in Orlando, FL.
  • HIIM Faculty/Staff will make the decision on which days will be covered by the program once the agenda has been released. Typically it is between one and two days of the conference.  All students will be notified of the options once the agenda is available. 
  • The program will also reimburse the daily parking fee, but the student must keep their receipts and complete the check-in at the exhibit hall booth.
  • Students who live outside Central Florida will be responsible for covering any additional travel expenses incurred to attend the meeting.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be declared as HIIM – Major when we are actually registering students for the conference, no pending students will be accepted.  If you have questions about your status please reach out to your advisor - hiim@ucf.edu.
  • Must be an AHIMA Member. Membership fees need to be paid by the student. Student Membership is $49 for the year. https://my.ahima.org/join
    • However, if you have an AHIMA credential (CCA/RHIT/etc) you are considered a professional and would need to pay the Professional Membership fee of $149.
    • If you are unsure if you are already an AHIMA member (student or professional), please login to your myAHIMA account here: https://www.ahima.org/ and under “My Account” scroll down to the “Membership” section. Here you can select “Print Membership Card” and you will be able to view your member number if you have one.
  • Priority will be given to first time attendees and those with senior status.
  • Must maintain good standing in the program. This includes no academic/conduct issues and no issues with past program sponsored activities
  • Completion of the application
  • Must maintain timely response to questions/emails from program advisor, program director, and UCF staff. This means frequent monitoring of your UCF email.

AHIMA - October 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota

We invite you to attend the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Annual Conference - https://conference.ahima.org/.

Attending the conference is an excellent opportunity to network with professionals, attend educational sessions, and gain insight into career opportunities after graduation.

Conference/Travel Information:

  • This professional meeting is held October 11-14, 2025 in Salt Lake City, UT.
  • Applicants must commit to the entire conference including travel days. Once the agenda is available, dates will be finalized but typically encompass Saturday to Wednesday/Thursday. You must be able to attend the entire time and attend education sessions; this is NOT a vacation.
  • For those students who will fly from the Orlando airport (MCO), we will travel as a group, and you will be required to meet the group at the Orlando airport on the designated travel day. We will make separate arrangements for students who do not live within travel distance to the Orlando airport; travel dates will be the same.
  • The program will cover the cost of airfare, transportation to/from the airport in Salt Lake City, your student registration for the conference, and room accommodation.  You will also be provided with a daily meal allowance for those meals not covered by the conference. Transportation to/from your home airport and/or parking is not included.
  • Students will be given an itinerary for seminars and student events that they must attend, and two check-ins will be required each day.
