Connecting to Sulley
Connecting to Sulley
The steps below can be considered a quick start guide. If you need more assistance, go to http://sulley.cah.ucf.edu and click the "Tutorials" link at the top.
Before beginning, you should ensure you have downloaded the UCF VPN Client and the Filezilla Client Links to an external site..
Connecting to Sulley and Uploading Site Files:
1. If you are not connected to the campus's primary wifi network (UCF_WPA2), you must first connect to the VPN via Cisco AnyConnect.
2. Open FileZilla and log in using the fields at the top.
a. Host: sftp://sulley.cah.ucf.edu
b. Username: your NID
c. Password: your password (your default password was emailed to you by the sulley team. You can reset your password here. The password reset tool uses the number marked "ISO" on your student ID. Do not accidentally use your library number, or any other numbers. Note: This is may not be the same password you use to log in to Webcourses, myUCF, etc.)
d. Port: 22
3. If successful, the status in the box below will say "Connected to sulley.cah.ucf.edu"
4. The left pane is your computer. The right pane is the sulley server.
5. In the sulley server, navigate to the folder marked with your NID. Expand this folder.
6. You should see a public_html folder. If you do not, create it (right click->create directory). Be sure to name it public_html.
7. All of your site files MUST go in public_html, or folders created within it. To upload, drag files form your computer (left pane) to the sulley server (right pane).
8. The status box will update accordingly. You're done.
Finding your URL:
The URL to access any files and folders in your public_html folder follows this pattern: http://sulley.cah.ucf.edu/~nid/
For example, if my NID is jo123456, then I can access the file index.html in my public_html folder at the URL http://sulley.cah.ucf.edu/~jo123456/index.html
If index.html is in a folder called assignment, then it can be accessed at http://sulley.cah.ucf.edu/~jo123456/assignment/index.html
