However, faculty often state that students do not read the orientation materials thoroughly. To address this, one strategy is to create a Getting Started Quiz for your students to take during the first week. This ensures that students have reviewed the syllabus and other intro materials that are important for their success in your course. Also, if a student claims he or she was not aware of a policy, you can review their Getting Started Quiz results to check.
