Week 9 - Production Week

This week

  • If you did not do so last week, please contact your instructional designer to schedule a consultation this week to prepare for the Showcase.
  • Reminder: If you have not already had the accessibility review of your online course content pages and you would still like to participate, contact your instructional designer. A report generated as part of this process will identify any potential accessibility concerns that your instructional designer will review with you to help develop a plan to address these concerns.

Build Your Course Activities

  1. Revise/finalize the course content you plan to present at Showcase [ e.g., syllabus, course expectations, module, assessment, social media tool (optional)].

    • To convert your Word documents to Pages, you have two options to choose from. Please select one of the options below.
    • If you would like to upload an assessment (e.g., quiz, self-test, survey) to your course but decide not to develop the assessment directly within yourself, you may submit your quiz to for processing.
    • If you have links to media such as YouTube or other web pages that link outside of the course, please check to make sure these links are working within your development course.
    • Talk to your instructional designer if you have any questions about finalizing your materials for Showcase.
  2. Prepare for the Online Faculty Showcase.

You will have set time limit to present at the Showcase with 2 minutes reserved for questions (The time will be determined by the number of participants. Please discuss the exact time during Consultation 3 and 4). The following are suggestions that could be considered for your presentation:
    1. A quick summary of your course context
    2. Identification of a specific aspect of your online course that you feel is unique, innovative, or compelling (e.g., course design, activity, interaction)
    3. A traditional classroom activity or aspect that you were able to transition to the online environment
    4. Some aspect of the faculty development program that was especially rewarding

If you have not yet discussed your showcase module with your instructional designer, please contact your ID to schedule a consultation this week.
