Week 7

Choose one group member to summarize your group's final response to your scenario. Click the Edit button on the right hand side and type/paste your summary under your group number. When you are finished, click the Save Changes button at the bottom.

Title: Blurry Radar

You hear rumors that a student has complained to your Chair about your teaching.   The student is a Web veteran who has taken several online courses at <Replace - Institution Name>. The student wanted to know why you are not teaching as well as others teaching online. Mainly these are complaints about lack of and slow communication.  Now what? What can be done to prevent this?

You’ve worked tirelessly on developing your online course. You have read and responded to thousands of discussion postings. Your students love you for your countless hours of online interaction. You are pleased with the learning outcomes. But…you’re tired. You’re weary. You cannot possibly look at a computer screen another second. The messages are piling up. Deadlines are approaching. Grades are due!  Now what? What can you do to prevent this scenario?

Group 4:
Title: Student Assistant from Hell

Congratulations!   Your online course has such a long waiting list that your department chair is allowing you to get a student assistant. :)  You quickly hire someone but it becomes apparent that the student is clueless with the technology. Your time melts away as your blood pressure rises.  Now what? How will you quickly bring your GTA up to speed? Is training available?
